PHYSICAL THERAPY

L C Nursing Home has an inhouse physical therapist who conducts a daily programme of physical activity, occupational therapy and rehabilitative exercises for the residents.

We use a combination of floor cycles, hand cycles and group therapy exercises to encourage our residents to exercise.

Floor Cycles are a great way for our elderly residents to exercise safely while seated. It works to increase and encourage mobility and strength in their legs and hips even while seated, and is perfect for safety for those who are not ambulatory.

We have two versions of Floor Cycles - (1) Strength Cycles and (2) Assisted Cycles. We encourage those with sufficient leg strength and mobility to use the Strength Cycles which fully rely on their own limb strength. For those who are struggling with the Strength Cycles, we have the Assisted Cycle which provides powered assistance with the cycling activity so that they can also enjoy the benefits of the leg cycle exercises even when they do not have sufficient strength or mobility yet.

Hand Cycles are another great way for our elderly residents to exercise safely while seated. It works to increase and encourage mobility and strength in their arms while seated, and is perfect for safety for those who are not ambulatory and aids in upper limb and body strength and mobility.
